Filet Mignon and Shrimp

Filet Mignon and Shrimp is an easy surf-n-turf dish perfect for special occasions. Medium rare beef tenderloin steaks are topped with shrimp, buttery mayo and Parmesan sauce, and savory seasonings.

This cast iron skillet filet mignon and shrimp is a low carb recipe and is ready in just 30 minutes and makes a great lunch, dinner, or impressive romantic date night meal.

This recipe is moderately low-carb, but not necessarily by Keto extreme low-carb guidelines.

How to make Filet Mignon with Shrimp Parmesan

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Sprinkle the filet mignon beef tenderloin steaks with salt and fresh ground pepper and set aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the Parmesan cheese, butter, mayonnaise, dried chopped chives, Old Bay Seasoning, and dried basil. Click for Old Bay Seasoning.

Gently fold the shrimp into the mayo mixture.

Preheat a medium cast iron skillet over medium heat. Click for a medium cast iron skillet.

Add the cooking oil and the seasoned beef tenderloin filets. Cook for 2 minutes on each side.

Remove the skillet from the heat and top each filet with the shrimp Parmesan mixture, divided evenly.

Place the skillet in the oven for 12 – 15 minutes or until the topping turns golden brown. The filet mignon internal temp should be 135°F for medium-rare and 145°F for medium.

Remove from the oven and transfer to serving plates.

Top each with fresh chopped parsley and fresh ground black pepper, if desired.

  • 2 filet mignon beef tenderloin steaks (4 - 6 ounces each)
  • Course sea salt and fresh ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon butter (room temperature)
  • 1/8 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon dried chopped chives
  • 1/8 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 pound shrimp (peeled, deveined, and tails removed)
  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)
