Seasoned strip steak is pan grilled to your liking, served on a bed of leafy greens alongside broiled Parmesan topped tomatoes and then drizzled with the perfect blend of dressing ingredients.

 

It looks like a lot of ingredients but this meal is quite easy. You will probably have most of these things already in your pantry or fridge. One 8-ounce strip steak is just enough for two salads.

 

This low-carb dish is the perfect romantic lunch or dinner for two. Make it on Christmas or New Year’s Eve. Serve it with your favorite beer, wine, or sparkling champagne.

 

How to make Strip Steak Salad with Parmesan Broiled Tomatoes:

For the Steak:

Slice the steak into strips, cutting against the grain.

 

Combine the garlic, salt, olive oil, and lemon pepper seasoning in a bowl. Rub the garlic mixture evenly over the steak. Set aside and let it stand 15 minutes.

Coat the pan with non-stick cooking spray or cooking oil. Add the steak strips to the pan and grill 2 – 3 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.

 

Place the steak on a cutting board and let it cool about 5 minutes.

 

For the Dressing:

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, black pepper, vinegar, and Dijon mustard, stirring with a whisk.

For the Tomatoes:

Preheat the broiler to high. Place the oven rack in middle of the oven.

 

Arrange tomato halves, cut sides up, on a parchment lined baking sheet. Click here for a baking sheet.

 

Coat the cut sides of the tomatoes with cooking spray and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Broil 8 minutes.

 

Combine the cheese, garlic, and oregano in a bowl and sprinkle over the tomatoes.

Broil 3 minutes or until cheese melts and is beginning to brown.

 

To Serve:

Place 1 1/2 cups of salad greens on each of the 2 plates.

 

Top each with 4 ounces of steak and 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese.

 

Add three half tomatoes to each plate.

 

Pour the desired amount of dressing on top of each salad.

  • 1 clove jarred minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 8 ounces boneless strip steak
  • Non-stick cooking spray (or cooking oil)

For the Dressing:

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 cups Italian-blend salad greens
  • 2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese (grated)

For the Tomatoes:

  • 3 vine-ripened tomatoes, halved horizontally
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 teaspoons jarred minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions
