How to make Fluffy Pizza Dough

For the Dough

Place all of the dough ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order listed.

Choose the dough cycle on the bread machine.

Close the lid and press start. Mine takes 90 minutes to finish.

Turn the dough out onto a flat, lightly floured surface.

Using a rolling pin, roll the dough into a circle 1 inch bigger than the pan.

For the Pan

Place 1/4 cup of cooking oil in the bottom of the high-sided 14-inch pizza pan. Swirl the pan to evenly coat it.

Place the dough in the prepared pan and spray around the dough edge with non-stick cooking spray.

Preheat the oven to 550 degrees F.

Spoon pizza sauce onto the dough and spread to within 1/2 inch of the edges.

Add your favorite pizza toppings. Set aside to rest until the oven finishes pre-heating.

Bake for about 15 minutes or until done.

Use a large spatula and a pan gripper to remove the pizza from the pan to a flat surface, like a large cutting board or a cold pizza stone, and cut into 6-8 wedges.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups bread flour (or all purpose flour)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (Optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder (Optional)
  • cup olive oil (or any cooking oil)
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water (should feel barely warm to your finger)

For the Pan:

  • ¼ cup cooking oil for pan (not olive oil)
  • Your favorite sauce and toppings
