Bread Machine Pizza Dough

This is the best Bread Machine Pizza Dough for a perfect homemade pizza crust full of flavor every single time.

This pizza dough fills a 12 inch pizza pan and makes 4 to 6 thick slices. The recipe includes the pizza baking instructions as well.

What is the best bread machine for pizza dough?

You will most likely want one with a 2 lb capacity. I’m using an older model Welbilt brand bread machine which isn’t available anymore. This Hamilton Beach model has a medium price with a 2 lb capacity, is programmable with 12 Settings including gluten free, has a dishwasher safe pan and a kneading paddle.

How to make Fluffy Pizza Dough

For the Dough

Place all of the dough ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order listed.

Choose the dough cycle on the bread machine.

Close the lid and press start. Mine takes 90 minutes to finish.

Turn the dough out onto a flat, lightly floured surface.

Fluffy Pizza Dough

Using a rolling pin, roll the ball of dough into a circle 1 inch bigger than the pan.

For the Pan

Place 1/4 cup cooking oil in the bottom of the high-sided 12-inch pizza pan. Swirl the pan to coat it evenly.

Place the dough in the prepared pan and spray around the dough edge with non-stick cooking spray.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

Spoon pizza sauce onto the dough and spread to within 1/2 inch of the edges.

Add your favorite pizza toppings.

Bake for about 15 minutes or until done.

Use a large spatula and a pan gripper to remove the pizza from the pan to a flat surface, like a large cutting board or a cold pizza stone, and cut into 4 – 6 wedges.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 1 ¾ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon cornmeal
  • ¾ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (Optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder (Optional)
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water (should feel barely warm to your finger)

For the Pan:

  • ¼ cup cooking oil for pan (not olive oil)
  • Your favorite sauce and toppings
