Texas Toast French Toast

This simple Texas Toast French Toast is easy and delicious. Thick-sliced bread is dipped in egg, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar, then fried in butter until golden brown.  Top with pats of butter and maple syrup or you favorite toppings.

How to make French Toast with Texas Toast:

Preheat an electric skillet for medium low heat at 325 degrees F.

Whisk the egg, milk, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a shallow bowl or dish big enough for bread to lie flat.

Add 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet until melted.

Dip each Texas toast bread slice into the egg mixture, flipping them over to coat both sides.

Place the coated bread slices in the pan and fry about 4 – 5 minutes per side.

  • 4 slices Texas toast bread (or other thick sliced bread)
  • 1 jumbo egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch salt
  • 2 Tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat an electric skillet for medium low heat at 325 degrees F.
  2. Whisk the egg, milk, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a shallow bowl or dish big enough for bread to lie flat.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet until melted.
