Salted Caramel Apple Crisp

This Salted Caramel Apple Crisp has tart baking apples coated in sugar, spices, and salted caramel sauce then topped with a crumbly crispy oatmeal topping baked in individual oven safe dishes.

How to make Apple Crisp with Salted Caramel Sauce

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Lightly coat two 20 oz oven safe dishes with butter. Click for 20 oz oven safe dishes.

Cut the 2 Tbsp butter into small pieces and set aside.

Peel, core, and dice the apples into bite-sized pieces.

Combine the apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a large bowl and toss to coat.

Stir in the salted caramel sauce.

Place the apple mixture in the prepared baking dishes.

In another bowl, mix together the brown sugar, oats, and flour until evenly combined.

With a fork, blend in the butter pieces until small clumps form and the butter is incorporated.

Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples and place dishes on a baking sheet. Click for a baking sheet.

Bake until the topping is crispy and the apples are tender, about 45 minutes.

Let the apple crisps cool on a rack about 15 minutes before serving.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples (see notes)
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • tsp nutmeg
  • tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp salted caramel topping
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup rolled oats (uncooked)
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (plus more for coating the dishes)
  • Vanilla Ice Cream or Whipped Cream for topping (optional – not included in calorie count)
