Why I love this recipe
This dessert is all about the cozy combo of warm, cinnamon-spiced apples topped with a sweet, crunchy oat mix. It’s super tasty and really easy to whip up! Way simpler than making an apple pie, it uses just a few ingredients and can be ready in about an hour. Perfect for a small treat for two!
Expert tips
To make an awesome apple crisp, pick the right apples, add a thickener, and bake it until it’s all bubbly and golden brown.
When it’s time to store it, let it cool down completely, then wrap it up tight with plastic wrap or foil and pop it in the fridge for about 3 to 5 days. If you want to keep it longer, you can freeze it in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
FAQ’s
For the tastiest pies, crisps, and other baked goodies, you want apples that are nice and firm so they hold up well. Give Granny Smith, Honey Crisp, Braeburn, Cortland, Honey Gold, Jonathan, Fuji, Gala, Haralson, or Newtown Pippin a try!
