Substitutions
You can use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate chips instead of semisweet chocolate.

How to make Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Stove top directions
Step 1 - Rinse the strawberries, and then dry the strawberries with paper towels.
Step 2 - Cover a small baking sheet or plate with wax paper.
Step 3 - In a small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips together with the shortening until smooth, stirring often.
Step 4 - Dip the strawberries ⅔ into the melted chocolate mixture. Shake gently to remove excess chocolate.
Step 5 - Set strawberries on the prepared baking sheet or plate in a single layer at least 1 inch apart.
Step 6 - Chill in the refrigerator until firm, about 30 minutes.
Microwave directions

Step 3 - Place chocolate chips and shortening in a small microwave-safe glass bowl.
