Strawberries and Cream Bread Pudding

This Strawberries and Cream Bread Pudding has fresh strawberries and Italian bread cubes baked in a delicious custard filling and topped with a sweet creamy glaze.

This recipe makes a great breakfast or an impressive dessert for two. 

I am in love with this dish. My husband and I sat down to eat these, we each took a bite, our eyes met and opened wide, and then we gobbled these up like there was no tomorrow! Dig in guys and gals, you won’t be disappointed!

How to make Strawberry Bread Pudding

For the Bread Pudding

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C).

Slice the strawberries and cut the bread into cubes.

Spray two 20 oz oven safe bowls with non-stick baking spray. Click for 20 oz oven safe bowls.

Whisk the milk, cornstarch, granulated sugar, egg, lemon juice, and vanilla together in a large bowl.

Mix in the bread cubes and stir until all are well coated.

Fold the sliced strawberries into the bread mixture.

Pour the bread pudding into the two bowls, divided evenly.

Bake 30 minutes or until lightly golden and set.

Remove from the oven and cool 15 minutes before adding the glaze.

For the Cream Glaze

While the bread pudding cools, place the butter and heavy cream in a bowl and microwave until melted.

Whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup strawberries

For the Glaze:

  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 Tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
