Yum Yum Sauce

This homemade Yum Yum Sauce is made with mayonnaise, ketchup, butter, rice vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and sugar. It takes about 5 minutes to prepare and tastes fantastic.

It is also known as Japanese White Sauce or Sakura Sauce and is commonly found in Hibachi Japanese steakhouses throughout America. This is a small batch copy cat recipe.

Why I love this recipe

It only takes 5 minutes of super easy prep and goes great on top of any rice, but especially fried rice. Try it with this Shrimp Fried Rice or this Hawaiian Fried Rice. It’s also a great dipping sauce for Tempura shrimp, grilled shrimp, chicken, pork, and steak.

How to make Yum Yum Sauce

Step 1 – In a medium bowl, add the mayo, ketchup, melted butter, rice vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and granulated sugar.

Step 2 – Whisk until well combined.

Step 3 – Cover the bowl and chill for at least 1 hour.

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
