How to make French Toast with Texas Toast Bread
Preheat an electric skillet to medium-low heat at 325 degrees F.
Whisk the egg, milk, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a shallow bowl or dish big enough for the bread to lie flat.
Add 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet until melted.
Dip each Texas toast bread slice into the egg mixture, flipping them over to just coat both sides. Don't let the bread soak in the mixture.
Place the coated bread slices in the pan and fry for about 4 – 5 minutes per side.
Serve topped with pats of butter and syrup or your favorite toppings.

AWESOME! Quick recipe and easy instructions. At 60 years old I felt like I was 6 years old and my Mutti (Mom) was in the kitchen making me breakfast. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I didn't see anything about heavy cream in the recipe. Ours was soggy. I used 3 eggs and milk. Not sure how you get away with 1 egg.

Hi Seasons01, correct there is no heavy cream in this recipe. I use whole milk and 1 jumbo egg every time and it always works great for me. Make sure to just coat the bread in the mixture and don't let the bread soak in it.

I love french toast..but no matter what it is always soggy...ugh!!! I finally found out the secret.....use heavy cream instead of milk....heavy cream sort of sits on top of the ingredients but milk mixes right in and seems to make it soggy every time. I only use heavy cream...it works like a charm.....and I've been looking for non-soggy french toast my entire life and found an article on this....it works!!!! Try it!! This mix is very flavorful, simple and easy. I buy at thick texas toast at the 99 cents store...its perfect!!!
