How to make Seared Tuna Salad
For the Asian Ginger Dressing
In an 8 oz. glass jar or larger, combine the garlic, ginger, cooking oil, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, honey, and water. Click for 8 oz jars.
Cover the jar with a tight-fitting lid, and shake well.
Remove the lid, and heat the jar in the microwave for 30 – 45 seconds, just to dissolve the honey.
Let cool, and shake well before serving. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator with the lid in place.
For the Tuna Steaks
In a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, honey, and 1/2 tablespoon cooking oil.
Coat the tuna steaks with the soy sauce mixture.
Then press the sesame seeds on both sides of the steaks to coat.
Preheat 1/2 tablespoon cooking oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot. Click for a cast iron skillet.
Place the tuna steaks in the pan, cover with a mesh splatter screen, and sear for about 30 seconds on each side. Click for a mesh splatter screen.
On a cutting board slice the tuna into thin slices.
