Expert tips

Cook the salmon until the thickest part reaches 145°F for perfectly cooked fish. But if you’re going for that amazing melt-in-your-mouth medium-rare vibe, pull it at 125°F—just keep in mind it’ll keep cooking a bit while it rests!

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
  • ¼ cup real maple syrup
  • 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon jarred minced garlic

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375˚F and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon, and garlic.
  • Place the salmon on a baking sheet and top with about 1/3 of the maple glaze, reserving the rest for later.
  • Bake salmon for 15 – 20 minutes, adding more glaze after the first 10 minutes. When salmon is cooked, remove from oven and top with remaining glaze before serving.

Notes

  • Cook the salmon until the thickest part reaches 145°F for perfectly cooked fish. But if you’re going for that amazing melt-in-your-mouth medium-rare vibe, pull it at 125°F—just keep in mind it’ll keep cooking a bit while it rests!
  • To store leftover baked salmon, let it cool, then place it in an airtight container in the coldest part of your fridge (like the back or bottom shelf) within 2 hours of cooking. Consume within 3 to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze it for up to 2 to 3 months.
