Ham and Egg Salad

This easy Ham and Egg Salad combines cubed ham, pasta, hard-boiled egg, mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, mustard, celery, onion and seasonings.

This easy ham pasta salad is perfect for using up that leftover holiday ham but you can also use ham steaks or pre-cubed ham.

If using the hardboiled egg, the time to make this recipe will increase. If you want a little kick, try adding horseradish.

This recipe is ready in just 25 minutes but for best flavor plan to chill in the fridge for 1 – 2 hours.

This small batch recipe makes a great side dish for lunch, dinner, or your date night meal for two.

How to make Ham Pasta Salad

Cook the pasta in a sauce pan according to the package directions.

Drain and cool completely.

While the pasta cooks, finely dice the ham, hard-boiled egg, celery, and onion on a cutting board.

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, and mustard. Mix until well combined.

Stir in the cooked pasta until coated.

Add the ham, celery, onions, and hard boiled eggs, stirring to coat.

Taste the salad and sprinkle in salt and black pepper if needed.

Cover and refrigerate until time to serve.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup uncooked pasta
  • 1/2 cup fully cooked ham
  • 1 hard boiled egg
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1/4 cup onion
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (or miracle whip)
  • 1 Tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a sauce pan according to the package directions. Drain and cool completely.

Such a great idea to add ham. It sure amped up my regular mac salad and I’ll be making yours from now on. I did add some smoked paprika and a pinch of sugar because I use those in my mac salads. If you have an Instant Pot you can cook the pasta and hard boiled eggs. Thanks for your recipe, Zona!
