Cream Cheese Danish

This quick and easy Cream Cheese Danish recipe starts with a store bought crescent roll dough unperforated sheet cut and shaped into four circles, then are filled with a cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and sour cream mixture.

These small batch Danishes can be made, start to finish, in about 30 minutes and make a great breakfast or dessert for two to four.

How to make Crescent Cheese Danish

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Unroll the crescent dough sheet on wax paper and cut it into 4 rectangles. A pizza cutter works great for this.

Place onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Roll each, starting on a long edge, and roll toward the other long edge, into a long log shape.

Twist the log like a candy cane then wrap the twisted log into a circle shape. Tuck the end underneath if desired.

Press the center flat with your thumb to create a well.

In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and sour cream until well combined.

Add about 2 tablespoons of filling to the center of each roll.

Lightly brush 1 tablespoon of melted butter over the dough that isn’t covered by the cream cheese mixture.

Bake for 12 - 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

Cool for 10 minutes.

In a small bowl, stir together the confectioners' sugar, milk and the ½ tablespoon softened butter. Whisk in more milk or powdered sugar until it is drizzle consistency.

Drizzle the glaze over the tops of the Danishes using a spoon.

Ingredients

For the Crescent Cheese Danish:

  • 1 can of crescent dough sheet (non-perforated)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon sour cream
  • 1 Tablespoon butter (melted)

For the Glaze:

  • ¼ cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • ½ Tablespoon softened butter

Instructions
