This quick and easy Cream Cheese Danish recipe starts with a store bought crescent roll dough unperforated sheet cut and shaped into four circles. They are filled with a cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and sour cream mixture. Ready in 30 minutes!
Unroll the crescent dough sheet on wax paper and cut into 4 rectangles. A pizza cutter works great for this.
Place onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Roll each, starting on a long edge and roll toward the other long edge, into a long log shape.
Twist the log like a candy cane then wrap the twisted log into a circle shape. Tuck the end underneath if desired.
Press the center flat with your thumb to create a well.
In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and sour cream until well combined.
Add about 2 tablespoons of filling to the center of each roll.
Lightly brush 1 tablespoon melted butter over the dough that isn’t covered by the cream cheese mixture.
Bake 12 - 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
Cool 10 minutes.
In a small bowl, stir together the confectioners' sugar, milk and the ½ tablespoon softened butter. Whisk in more milk or powdered sugar until it is drizzle consistency.
Drizzle the glaze over the tops of the Danishes using a spoon.
