This delicious Oriental Chicken Salad has great crunch in the lettuce, lightly breaded chicken, chow mein noodles, and almonds mixed with the soft sweetness of the mandarin oranges.

The dressing has incredible sweet and tangy flavor, and it’s quick and easy to make.

How to make Oriental Chicken Salad:

For the Chicken:

Dice the chicken into bite sized pieces.

Dust the chicken pieces with the Drake’s Crispy Fry Mix and shake off the excess.

Melt the butter in a large frying pan over medium heat or to 350 degrees in an electric skillet. Click for a 16 inch electric skillet.

Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown. Drain and cool on a paper towel for just a couple of minutes.

For the Dressing:

In a small bowl, mix together the mayo, Dijon mustard, oil, sugar, and vinegar. Whisk until well combined. Click for a whisk.

For the Salad:

Divide the lettuce into two bowls.

Then top with the mandarin oranges.

Add the almonds and chow mein noodles.

Top with the cooked chicken.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 1/2 lb boneless chicken
  • 1/3 cup Drake’s Crispy Fry Mix
  • 2 Tablespoons butter

For the Oriental Dressing:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon Canola oil

For the Salad:

  • 3 cups romaine lettuce, artisan, or iceberg
  • 8 oz can mandarin oranges drained
  • 1/4 cup almonds sliced or slivered
  • 1/4 cup chow mein noodles

Instructions
