It is delicious, refreshing, easy and quick, ready in just 5 minutes. This recipe makes 2 beautiful drinks full of fresh banana and spiced rum flavors.

Daiquiri Origin

The main ingredients of a Daiquiri are rum, citrus juice (typically lime juice), and sugar or other sweetener. The original Daiquiri is said to have been created by Jennings Cox around 1898 who was an iron miner working in Cuba at the time. While the Daiquiri is not necessarily considered a girly drink, I think they can be both fun and beautiful.

Captain George Soule then created the Banana Daiquiri in 1953 at Mountain Top, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Read more about the origins of the Daiquiri.

Hi Bruce, if it came out to thick you could add a little more coconut milk or more rum until it reaches your desired consistency.

Hi. This tasted really good! I used a little extra rum. ☺️ But I have a question...I had a hard time with the sugar, it was crunching in my teeth. Does anyone have a tip to make sure the sugar breaks down/mixes in really well? I blended it soo much trying to get the sugar to blend in.

Hi Carla, you can dissolve it first. Stir the 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water in small saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat and bring to boil. Cool sugar syrup. Then add it to the blender with the rest of the ingredients. But, you will want to reduce the amount of ice to 1 1/2 or 2 cups instead of 3 cups. Thanks for your question :)

This is one of our favorite drinks! It’s so good! I use coconut rum instead of the coconut milk. We like the added level of flavor with the lime juice. I usually double the recipe when I make it! 😬

Hi Kristin, I'm glad you enjoy this recipe! Great idea to use the coconut rum. I will have to try it that way too :)

These were so good. I had to double it and substitute the coconut milk for cream of coconut. I loved them😃
