This Banana Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting recipe is amazing! It’s moist, dense, and packed with huge banana flavor topped with the perfect cream cheese frosting and chopped pecans or walnuts.

We often buy extra bananas and let them get over ripe on purpose just so we can make this cake.

This is the best homemade banana cake and is a hit in our house. My husband instantly asks me to plan on making this again as soon as possible every time we eat it!

How to make Banana Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 C).

For the Cake:

Spray two 7 ounce ramekins with non-stick cooking spray and set aside. Click here for 7 ounce ramekins.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar. Click here for a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer.

Add the mashed banana and vanilla. Mix until combined well.

Mix in the egg.

Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined. Do not over mix.

Pour the batter into the prepared dishes, divided evenly between the two.

Bake for 20 minutes. The cakes will be done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Place the ramekins onto a cooling rack and allow the cakes to cool completely.

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter and cream cheese.

Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

Spread the vanilla frosting over the cooled cakes.

Sprinkle the tops with chopped pecans or walnuts.

    These were delicious! I doubled the recipe to make four, and did my own chocolate frosting to top, and they were incredible!
