Add the chicken broth.

Spread the minced garlic over top of the turkey.

Sprinkle salt and fresh cracked black pepper over top.
Cut the onion into rings and layer on top of the turkey.

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours and do not open the lid.
Line a broiler pan with foil and spray with non-stick spray and pre-heat the broiler.
Leave the onions and broth in the crockpot and carefully remove the cooked turkey to the broiler pan, skin side up, and set aside.

For the Homemade Gravy:
Turn the crock pot to high heat.
Add the butter to the broth in the crock pot, stir until melted.
Whisk together the cornstarch with the water until a smooth slurry forms, and then whisk into the turkey drippings inside the crock pot.

Simmer for about 15 minutes or until thickened, whisking occasionally.
At the same time, broil the turkey for about 5 – 7 minutes or until lightly browned. Watch it closely so it doesn’t burn.
