Puff Pastry Cinnamon Baked Pears are an easy, yet fancy and delicious fall dessert. Ripened pears are peeled, cored, and sprinkled with sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom, then wrapped in puff pastry, brushed with egg wash, and baked to golden brown perfection.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom and set aside.
Peel the pears with a vegetable peeler and remove the stems.
Scoop out the core of the pear using a melon baller.
Sprinkle the pears all over with the sugar mixture and set aside.
Unroll the puff pastry dough and cut into two equal halves.
Wrap one half piece of puff pastry dough around a pear and seal it by pinching it together with your fingers. Fold the pastry together under the pear and tuck the pastry down into the top of the pear. Repeat with the second pear.
Transfer the pastry wrapped pears to the baking sheet, standing upright. Brush the outside of the pastry dough with egg wash.
Bake for 30 minutes or until puff pastry is golden brown and pears are softened.
Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
