This Honey Garlic Shrimp is super easy and delicious, uses just 6 ingredients, 7 easy steps, and is ready in just 20 minutes. The savory sauce marinade is made by mixing together typical pantry staples of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
½poundthawed uncooked large shrimp(peeled, deveined and tails removed)
1teaspooncanola oil(or olive oil, or sesame oil)
Optional for garnish - chopped green onion, toasted sesame seeds, or chives
Instructions
Whisk the honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger in a medium bowl.
Place the raw shrimp in a zip-top bag or a bowl with a lid. Pour 1/2 of the marinade mixture on top, and stir to coat. Marinate in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or for up to 8-12 hours.
Cover and refrigerate the remaining marinade. It is used when cooking the shrimp.
Preheat the oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Drain the shrimp then place it in the large skillet.
Cook the shrimp on one side until pink, about 1 minute, and then turn them over.
Pour in the reserved marinade over the pan-seared shrimp and cook until the shrimp is cooked through, about 1 minute more.
Serve the shrimp topped with the cooked marinade sauce and garnish with green onion or chives if desired. Tastes great served over rice and broccoli.
Notes
I use frozen packaged shrimp labeled “peeled, deveined, and tails removed” for even easier meal prep but you can also use fresh.
If using jumbo shrimp cooking time will increase a little.
Store leftover shrimp in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.
