20 Minute Soft Molasses Cookies

Mix together flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a bowl and set aside. In another bowl cream together butter and sugar. Beat in the egg yolk, and then mix in the water and molasses. Gradually add the flour mixture to the molasses mixture.

Spritz a cookie scoop or melon baller with non-stick spray then scoop out a walnut size ball of dough. Drop it into the sugar and roll it around to coat.

Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Place the cookies 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Don’t flatten them. Bake in the preheated oven.

Allow the baked cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
